14.05.2009: Paris based Créative Sound studios add 35mm projection facility through the existing HD video projector in combination with their newly acquired ALTRA Telecine.

05.05.2009: sondor BASIC sound followers complement Telecine suites and sound post-studios in Mumbai, Chennai and Paris

15.04.2009: Middle East Film Archiving specialist Rotana has installed its first OMA E Chace archival follower in their Cairo based restoration facility.

12.01.2009: The first two 16/35 mm Altra HD/2K units on order are destined for Rome based operations of Technicolor and Instituto Luce.

8.12.2008: The Russian Institute of Cinematography in Moscow and Tytra Film in Kiev have been supplied with Altra HD High Definition Telecines.

13.10.2008: The National Radio Archive in Washington DC has confirmed their order for a 16/35 mm OMA E Chace magnetic film reproducer, equipped for archive retrieval work.

Looking for a budget priced mag follower or recorder? We offer factory refurbished and updated “sondor’s”, covered by a full 12 months warranty. Spare parts are available from our stock for a second life-time of these machines.

Mag Alignment Films

We manufacture a wide range of 16mm and 35mm multi-frequency, single tone and pinknoise calibration films on Pyral T12 and T14 stock.

Cyan Optical Tracks

The new cyan dye tracks do not read with tungsten (white light) optical soundtrack readers. Contact us for red LED reverse-scan readers for your 35mm Telecines, dubbers or projectors! Our Soundhouse range of products also includes Dolby Digital and DTS reader heads.

About us

sondor was founded in 1952 by Willy Hungerbuehler. Early customers were the Swiss and German TV stations. sondor soon established its name as innovative manufacturer of 16mm and 35mm magnetic film equipment and invented world-wide standards such as the bi-phase interlocking signal. Today, the company manufactures film transports and a wide range of accessories used in post studios and preview theatres, many of them built to order.
